Deep Frying –

Deep frying involves immersing food in a hot oil bath, typically between 350°F (177°C) and 375°F (191°C), to achieve crispy exterior and cooked interior.

Shallow Frying –

Shallow frying involves cooking food in a small amount of hot oil, typically enough to partially submerge the food, resulting in a crispy, golden-brown exterior.

Sautéing –

Sautéing is frying method in which frying food in a small amount of oil, often with constant movement or tossing to ensure even cooking and browning.

Pan Frying –

Pan frying is method in which we require small quantity of oil, partially submerging the food in oil.

Stir Frying –

Frying technique in which ingredients are fried in a small amount of oil while being stirred or tosses.

Dressing –

Salad dressing is a technique in which sauce or condiments are added to salads to enhance flavour, it includes oil, vinegar, herbs and spices.

Low Heat Cooking –

Low heat cooking involves frying food in oil at low temperature below 300 °F (163°C) which prevents scorching and preserve nutrient and allow even cooking.

Air Frying –

Air frying in which we can enhance flavour and texture by adding a small amount of oil.

Health Benefit

Heart Health –

  • Groundnut oil is considered heart-healthy due to its high content of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which can help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol, thus reducing the risk of heart disease

 

Skin Care –

  • Walnut oil has hydrating and moisturizing properties which softens the skin and improve its natural barrier especially for dry and itchy skin.
  • Almond oil is rich in vitamins A and E, it moisturizes and nourishes the skin, making the skin soften
  • Coconut oil acts as hydrating and rejuvenating and help in improving skin elasticit, reduce fine lines and soothe irritation making them ideal for sensitive and dry skin.

 

Hair Care –

  • Kalonji oil is used to treat hair loss, stimulate new hair growth, heal dandruff, prevent premature greying of hair, and strengthen the hair roots.
  • Coconut oil heals damaged hair by softening; hydrating and strengthening those brittle, broken strands and it also strengthen the hairs cuticle. It also increases hair shine.
  • Castor oil it increases blood flow to the scalp, which promotes healthier hair and moisturizes dry scalp. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties that can reduce dandruff.

Body Massage –

  • Sesame oil is favored for body massage in Ayurveda due to its nourishing, calming and warming properties, making it ideal for Abhyanga (self-massage) and balancing Vata dosha, and soothing muscles. Also helps in relieving stiff muscles and pain from rigid joints.

Metabolism

  • Coconut oil may support metabolism due to its high content of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are easier for the body to digest and burn for energy than long-chain triglycerides (LCTs).

 

Oral Health –

  • Coconut oil can improve oral health through “oil pulling” a practice where you swish the oil in your   mouth, potentially reducing plaque, harmful bacteria, and gingivitis, and promoting fresher breath.
